Maybe you guys should release 1.9.4 under the name SF Classic. Or maybe even just SourceForts (no version).
Or maybe call it SourceForts Version 1.
If 2.0 is going to be such a huge change from 1.9.4 it seems odd that such change could happen in 0.0.6 of a version.
It might make it less confusing (or not).

I think 194 and Haven is ideal.
Just let V2 die it's already failed twice, It's like calling your company Enron and expecting good PR.

I think calling it something else will just mess everyone up. 194 has been in the making for..... anyway the old sf regulars who arnt forum active are expecting a 194 not the ipod clas- sourceforts classic
...So about that most recent beta testing of 194?

I reckon Sourceforts 1.9.4. will release a year after 1.9.3. so the deadline should be the first of December 2008.
I recommended Sourceforts: Haven... but everyone was like AMG NO PEW PEW SHUT UP JAEK

The first bug fix for Haven will be Geoforts, blocks will have been removed for balancing and replaced with large lumps of rock which will need to be fashioned with a subharmonic destabiliser (causes the rock to fissue and falls off.)
Then you'll use the grav gun as normal to place blocks. To counteract the possibility of neat freask spending several hours on each blocks, builder will move at a constant sprint, all other playes will have gravity set to .01 and speed set to .01.

Not to mention that the game will be buggy and crashes when you start combat phase and you still have some of your rocks unfrozen.
Or a bug which causes all your pieces to instant unfreeze when you start combat phase, resulting in a overload of physics data lagging the server horribily.
(happend sometimes with hugeflatmap in 1.4.2)

There won't BE a combat phase. This is still Haven, we won't revert that, even in a bug fix.
If it fails at gameplay, we'll just say that you guys don't know how to play, and leave it. Duh. This is SourceForts.

I actually played on a reverse engineered Beaver Creek from Halo on an SF server - it had builda-rocks but I don't think you could freeze them.

What we're actually going to do is this: When you take out your gravgun, you can pull things up from the ground/floor to build with. You won't really know what it's going to be - it could be a hammer, a rock, or a penis.

Sometimes the ground itself gets pulled up, VALVe's physics engine at this point does it's famous OMGWTFBBQ act and just crashes the server. Possibly killing a small puppy at the same time.

But not before corrupting your boot sector.

since we're talking about 2.0, I'll just put in this random idea, the more CP's you own the higher health your blocks have and obviously the less CP's the blocks have lower health, making it so that people don't just turtle.

While we're on the subject of 2.0, I just had a great new idea! How about you double the number of flags and teams and give the capper a jetpack, and ...oh mybad
in other news, it looks like a new version of neoforts was released Aug 1st

Seriously though, when you fix 1.9.4, and it has been established as bug-free. Include another map or something and make it SourceForts 1
Then for haven you can make it SourceForts 2.

Impossible to make something "bug free" there is always something...noticed or not

Especially with code from 7 people.

Code from about 30 or so people. The VALVe code also causes a lot of problems, it difficult to trace a bug when it passes through proprietary engine code.
