View Full Version : New Website!

The new website is finished, up and functioning. It is a fresh change from the old layout, and I hope you guys enjoy it. Included with it is a new news system developed by yours truly that will allow for the staff to make more frequent news posts. Also, it will allow us to give trusted community members access to make news posts about.. well.. community related stuff.
The league, as close as it is to being finished, just isn't there yet. One key feature is keeping it back from a true release. Don't fret though, it shouldn't take too long for me to finish it up. I hope you guys like the new design!

Brilliant work Stieff - infinitely more polished and professional. Well done!
small tidbit: the 'view posts since last visit' link throws a debug error.

hmmm i saw this website like a month ago, i thought maybe you would add some more. It was like beta.sourcefortsmod.com or something. I suggest making the forum navigation or a horzintal bar, maybe a clickable image.

stieff can you tell me cgi you are using for the news on the front page, and how the comments foward to a forum post?

It takes a new topic post from the news forum and puts it into a easier to read table in the database. Fairly simple, but it took a bit of know-how on the phpBB end to accomplish.

lol, thanks for that!! :D

Quick comment on changing the URL of the forums to http://sourcefortsmod.com/boards/. Can you redirect requests to the old /phpbb/ (http://sourcefortsmod.com/phpbb/) URL? I only ask because there are many links in existing forum posts and a few in the SFwiki that refer to the older location. These links will 404 if there is no redierct established.
Thanks.
Ok, so sometime between me noticing the problem and bothering to post on the problem, Stieffers fixed the problem.
Now that's what I call responsive!!

Steiffers is very responsive in the bed, I mean website making thing.
Looks very good
Shouldnt the "login" button be replaced with an "logout" button once you have logged in?
Edit: And wouldnt it be nice if the Subject of a post is shown in the title of the site? Like, if u are reading in this post, the title says: "SourceForts - New Website!!" :D
Good job with the site!!

This still a problem for anyone else besides me? I have to log in again if I close all IE or Firefox windows and hit the site again. I believe I've nuked all the cookies referencing "sourcefortsmod.com"
Hate to be dim twice in one thread, but I think I'll risk it.

No, you and I are losing our marbles together then. I had to clear my cookies at least twice before it seemed to 'take'.
