Oh, and how is it retarted? MOST anime (and I say most b/c there are always exceptions) have more plot than your average 'real' show. And if you're a scifi fan (which I am) they're a good alternative to scifi movies with cheesy plots and special effects (very rarely does a good scifi movie come along, most of them are just cheap crap)

There was actually a pretty good Scifi movie a week or so back on Scifi, it was starring Bruce Campbell, so it had to be pretty good saying as how he's a good actor.

There's only a few scifi shows that I like, BattleStar Galactica (the new one, the old one is corny and eh) and Farscape, both of which have plenty of plot and such. Shows like Stargate are entertaining for a while, but the acting is utterly _horrible_ and is too mainstream.

Scifi channel is occasionally good for movies. However, I've never seen a scifi show that is good. Most plots are retarted, and special effects ALWAYS suck on shows that last a while (not like mini series) cuz they have to make the shows quicker and cannot afford super good special effects for each episode. That's another thing on anime, special effects cost no more than anything else
