Default Consoles vs. PC

I dont know about you guys, but i am a die hard PC fan.

The only reason i would get a console is maybe to play 3rd person games such as fable (which i beta tested).

Personally, this whole controller is rubbish at FPS's lets face it. Mouse is superior. But what is your view.

This is not meant to be a flame, just a discussion.

now.... DISCUSS!

Yup there plastic, bulky, look crap. And the buttons are nearly ALWAYS not in the right place (made for little chinese hands, i wonder why...).

Mouse and a keyboard are the best and will always be the best, until controllers are made specifically for each country.

Consider: they have made mouse/keyboard combos that can be plugged into a PS2 and X-Box outlet and used as a controller...

...but not vice versa.

PCs will always have better controls, graphics and more immersive gameplay.

Consoles have the muliplayer "4-folks-around-a-TV" atmosphere which just can't be recreated on PC, not even with a LAN.

In my opinion consoles will always be better for fast games like racing, beat em ups and platformers... you just don't get the same effect playing those sorts of games on a PC... but I guess consoles are designed for those, I guess consoles are also better for linear RPGs (eg the FF series) they just lose something on PC. But for everything else PCs own consoles.

Can't choose between them. I've got a GameCube that I love dearly - mostly for Mario Kart, Zelda, Super Smash Bros Melee and Time Splitters, but there's loads of games I'd never have bought on PC: Prince of Persia (both of them), Need for Speed Underground (both of them ) and so on. These games just work better not only with gamepads, but with TVs. Plus, it's nice to sit on the sofa ever one in a while.

Contarily, I would never for a moment have considered buying Splinter Cell on any console. Time Splitters seems to be an exception to this (it's descended from GoldenEye), but shooting games just don't seem to work on consoles. Half-Life 2 or Doom 3 on X-Box? No thanks, I'll stick with keyboard and mouse (and yes, I know you can get those for consoles, but what's the point?).

Well, they have console-like controllers that can plug into USB.

They have, but it's still not quite the same.

I am a die hard PC fan also, controls are better, you get loads of content from the internet. online games roxxor, you can upgrade PC's, games have better graphics, games have less loading times, etc. etc.

however, consoles are great fun - just plug in and play! I can never resist a good game of timesplitters! it rocks!

"MACDONALD! NOOOOO!!! [charges]"

and thats my story.
because for them it really IS a game. its not real life, so who cares ;D
