Default Planet side or Half-Life 2

What is better Planet Side or Half-Life2?
I never really tried planet side because it costs money per month but I saw a video and it looks awesome!
But I think Hl2 is better because it can't die because of all these mods..

half life 2 easily. planetside seems cool until you play it and reallize that there are only 4 (maybe 6, been out of the game for a while) base layouts so you're attacking a base then defending a base then you run to defend a base that looks exactly the same and it gets monotonous.
battleframes kill a lot of the fun in the game by being high powered ownage machines. it was fun for a lil bit but hl2 is better by far.

Planetside was, for a time, the best gaming experience I could have. It is the closest I've ever been to matching the thrill of being on exercise with the military (way above Operation Flashpoint, Ghost Recon, Raven Shielde et al) because you are genuinely part of a larger operation. It doesn't matter that the base layouts are mostly the same - that just makes it easier to formulate good tactics. But if you're getting pounded to shit by enemy armour, and the commander behind calls in some bombers to save you - that's good gaming.

Pity I don't have the time to commit to it.

Yes, it was a legend. It ran really slow all the time tho. But who cares.

NC Forever!

i started playing this again, i definitely forgot how much it owns. you're right JLF the tactics and strategy in this game are really cool, but the game sucks if you're not in an organized squad with a bunch of cool people to play with. VS forever!

Why are these two games even being compared? Granted, they're both first person shooters, but that's where the similarities end. PlanetSide and HL2 are so wildly different, comparing them is like comparing apples and jelly fish.

PlanetSide is an amazing game, but I think it was just before its time. It doesn't appeal to most gamers, because it isn't mindless non-stop frag action.

To be honest, I was extremely dissapointed with the HL2 single player. I never really felt like I was having fun, as everything I was doing seemed like a chore which put me on the path to completing another chore. The game had you travel to one area, talk to someone, have them send you somewhere else, to have someone else send me to somewhere else. The characters were annoying, and I wouldn't cared if they were all wiped out in the first few moments of the game. Alot of it just didn't make sense either. At the end of HL, you went in to a sleep (sorta). Years later, when HL2 starts, you're awakened.. but somehow everyone already knew you were coming? The story was so underexplained it was ridiculous, regardless of whether Valve was trying to keep the whole background mysterious. No excuse for that.

I dunno, HL2 was probably one of the most overhyped games ever. The mod community is promising though. But yea, PlanetSide and HL2 back-to-back comparisons don't make sense, so don't do it.

Yea, another extremely overhyped game. Probably more than HL2.

Holy shit Halo2 was crap.
