Where exactly does it say it's a screensaver?

i have a hunch you may have downloaded the source code instead of the installation file. *shrug* maybe.

i, too, hate winzip. go get "winRAR" or "7-zip", i prefer those.

as for your installation problems, tell us please where exactly you've downloaded from. Which mirror and, if possible, an exact URL. Assuming it's a good release, ensure you're extracting the zipped "sourceforts" folder to the right place. on my computer, for example, when I'm done installing, it's at "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\sourceforts". on some newer installations, the default is something more like "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\sourceforts ". In either case, the key is to find your SourceMods folder and install within it.

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Delete any attempt you have made to install SourceForts and try using http://icr.seascape.uk.net/sourcefor...sInstaller.exe (note XP style support is not included currently due to incompatability with non-XP systems, so it may look ugly at times)
That should install it all perfectly for you. Once it's done, run it from the Steam Play Games menu, it should be under Third Party Games.

i know what hes talking about...

if it says you are installing screensavers, right click on the zip file, and click on winzip with the little icon next to it...

then click on extract here, it will extract it to the desktop if that is where u right clicked it at

then drag the folder into your sourcemods folder and your done!
