Default Basic fort for sf_abandon

I decided to make a simple fort on sf_abandon using a 50 piece block limit and a 10 minute build time with no help, so it doesn't have any proper turrets etc, it is just really a foundation. The most basic part of the fort (just the wall and entrance) takes about 5 minutes to make.

This the part I am most proud of, the entrance tunnel only takes one extra panel to make than a double paneled wall, and for the whole length of the tunnel you would still need to destroy two panels to fully comprimise the wall. (needless to say, but the wall is double layered)

As you can see, there are no turrets or even anything to stop people from walking across the edges straight to your flag, as they are usually built according to what your enemy builds.

Here it is with a few trimmings added

Inside the base I thought of things that really annoy me when I am a scout: having to find myself crouching for any length of time and not being able to make a clean get away (having stuff in my way). So I built a short crawl tunnel over one flight of stairs then blocked the other off, then I put panels at the bottom of the ramps up to the sides.

Fairly standard exterior, I just put a panel in front of the entrance to stop people rolling nades in and to protect people coming in from enemy fire.

And last but not least (actually, they are) are the turrets along the walls, the ones made from a slightly raised plank and another one along the wall dont really need explaining, but they do keep enemy scouts from jumping over the wall to escape. The one in the middle only needed one extra piece as the cover was already provided by the raised panel for the entrance.

What isn't shown here are the barricaides along the side platforms, they are just vertical plates with a small plate beneath them so they can be jumped over and used to fire from.

Nice. Good example of what would be considered a very decent fort in real play.

Only suggestion I have is to renenforce some of those stair planks, if I was on the other team that's what I'd target to take down to get your flag most easily.

No chance an enemy could unfreeze the blocks at the stairs, considering people are going to spawn and be within a few feet of the person unfreezing, so no use double layering.

i'd say the most likely place for a builder to try and break thru would be the lower block of the upper level "turret"

maybe im missing something but it seems like it would be a hassle to bring the enemy flag back

entRo: Can't be too careful, I'm sure there's a way to do it.

I'd figured if I could manage to get behind one of your upstairs bunkers I could shoot that block until it goes down. Or I could have built a bunker myself and done the same from my own protection. As a rule, I go for the overkill and just double or tripple layer everything.
