Flag protector for buildordie ;)
This is my idea of a flag protector, i dont know if it would work good tho. But the idea is that when they go to get the flag (jump down on it) it picks it up, they have it.. above thier head. They fall down and die. The flag is replaced. When you capture thier flag, you can easily get out  .
Somone test this idea please, noone joined my server so i couldnt test
Im not sure if this is considered cheating, if it is im sorry.
I just had this idea and i figured i would post it

That could really work...your team can stand on the flag and crouch jump out, while the other team would cap the flag and fall. However, wouldn't they take the flag down with them? I've never played that level, does it respawn or something?
I guess it is technically cheating as your are doing someting that is effectivly like building an impenetrable wall: either way the other team CAN'T get the flag, no mater what they do.
Building walls like that ranges from cheating on some servers to just bad form on others, though.
This isn't an example of something you have done in a game, though, just more like a proof of concept or something.
Good job, really original.

I've always wondered about flag etiquette.
Generally, everyone agrees that a base that has no entrances is bad. The enemy can't get to your flag, and should you capture their flag, you can't return it to your own to score.
It would seem like the obvious solution is to build a standard fort to provide some cover. Put in plenty of exit ramps, and one or two entrances. Then for the flag, build some sort of minifort, where one can jump in, but not out. Should the enemy team get to your flag, they'll find they cannot get out. But if you jump in with their flag, you can score, and then suicide by typing "kill" in the console. You'll lose 5 money, but the capture is a gain of 20.
But although this is the ideal solution, it is not very fair to the opposing team. But is the game supposed to be fair? If one team was good at the game and had loads of money and weapons, you wouldn't expect the other side to get a "catch-up" bonus, would you?
Anyways, my two cents. I'd like to see kind of rulebook included with v2.0 (maybe on the splash screen, as a kind of 10 Commandments kind of thing?)

This is a little bit of a weird issue, where there is not a solid set of flag rules. A really long tunnel leading to the flag is almost as bad as no entrance at all. If i'm playing against something like that, I will just damage out the pieces I need to get to the other teams flag. Generally when I build a base it has a short tunel enrance into the base and a short tunnel into the flag. It is very possible for the other team to get the flag and to score against us. I find that makes the game the most fun when there is some sort of a real competition going on.
