Default rationing blocks

after some uninspiring fort showcase threads i want to see some good usage of smaller block numbers. a good use of blocks in one part of your fort would allow for a greater number of blocks being devoted to something else.

like my 4 block valley entrance:

this type of thing is pretty easily defended by a rocketeer. with a few more blocks and a nice wall it would allow most of the team to play offense.

It doesn't really slow down incoming players all that much, but it does look pretty practical. Like you say, would be a really nightmare to push in against a good rocketeer in a spot like that. My only concern is how do you stop a builder from unfreezing those walls... you have to come out to get them.

I think that area is important enough to spend more than 4 blocks on, I normally spend 6 on that area, to provide sslightly layered vertical blocks and an attack ramp. (Screenies in a few minutes)

EDIT:

I wouldn't normally put an entrance there, it makes you vulnerable to snipers and rocketeers while you are using the health and armour chargers. (I used 7 here for the sake of double layering the wall.)

This is my favourate example of an effective yet economical entrance:

If a neat double layered wall is essential for your base, then this entrance only uses 1 extra block. The high piece is from the inside of the wall (unfreeze it then lift it high enough so you can crawl under it) And the piece blocking you from taking the short way out comes from the piece that is blocking you from getting out of the tunnel (at least from the way I double layer my wall on this map).

The only thing I don't like about that entrance is that enemys can easily shoot back. I admit it's very helpful when low on blocks.
