Default Teh Awsome Flag Cover

This version of my kinda flag cover uses that slanted technique, ya know the one where you have to "float" through 2 planks that are angled at such an angle that you can't walk on either plank.

SF_FieldTrip

ok ok , stop gauking at it's glory.... (lol)
So, this model roughly takes 38 seconds to get out, according to the SF timer thing, and has an easy entrance for fast flag capping. Now, if those 38 seconds don't give you enough time to kill the person, then you're just plain STUPID!!! ahem.. either way, if you're a good builder, this'll take about 2 1/2 mins to build, just to get the angles right mainly.
In the second and 3rd picture you may think that you can get out of the area just by crouch jumping off of the long box onto the upright long peice, but that jump is blocked off by the long piece, which is pulled back towards the flag abit just enough to block that jump. So that choice of exit is removed. Also, when you jump on the second box, it's really hard, you have to jump/crouch at the EXACT same moment pretty much just to get ontop of the box. Using this, i've watched some - lets say amatuer - players who spend 20 seconds just trying to get on that second box, then claim that it's impossible to get out and start yelling "U Cheap BUILdeRS!!! GeT yOUR ^@$% basE FIXed!!#$$%"
So, once you get on the second box, your only choice is to fall down into the slanted planks. ***IF this was built the wrong way, people could just walk onto the top of those planks, and jump right out of the whole contraption. But I spread out the first part of the planks that youwalk onto, so that it's out of your reach (sneaky!)***
So now your on the 38 second journey to the floor, holding forward the whole time.

Now this model can be built to be EXTREMELY EVIL!!! or it can be built simply. I made it somewhat evil with 2 pairs of slanted planks to make it 38 seconds to get out. You can add many many many pairs of planks to take the whole game just to get out of it. The main thing about this forts is the way you angle those 2 planks that you "float" on though. If you angle them so that your going somewhat upwards, you'll go VERY slow. If you angle them so that your going downards, the physics (gravity) will pull you down, along with you walking forward, which'll let you get out faster. (i've made one where it took 10 seconds to get out, and one where it took 80 seconds to get out [boy where those guys angry at me that game... ]

One funny thing about this, is that - once again.. amatuers - will completely ignore the easy entrance (the slanted plank that you can just easily walk up to, drop down, and get the flag) try to be cool and run/jump/crouch through the slanted planks to get to the flag, when of course, when they hit those 2 boxes, they'll find that they're still floating, and can't jump or anything and will have to go back out of the slanted planks. While they're doing this, you can just blow the crap out of them/toss a nade at their feet/ or beat them with a stunstick!

all in all, the things that i didnt do were double layer each plank, but if you have a good base, you shouldn't have to worry about that, just make sure you repair peices every once in a while, incase someone is trying to be sneaky by sniping the peices.

**PS: i came in late to the game, and i had just enough time to make this flag cover, as you may be able to tell, the base surrounding it isn't exactly.....a base....ahem...

No looks like. That would keep me in that flag zone for about 0.2 seconds.

[edit] probably could be fixed with one more flat though.

[edit2] maby not... I'd have to play it to see for sure with the extra flat.

the plank right above you is moved just enough to block you from jumping back onto the other plank. Trust me, i tested it SEVERAL times. **edit - And i can do the jump/crouch quite well.***

Though if you ever build it and want extra confidence, you can put the long box further in, or just make those regular large peices vertical instead of horizontal.

I'm pretty sure I could make the jump even if you roofed the whole thing... At least with a vertically alighned roof that is, a slanted down one could block pretty unstopably.

Looks like a soldier or two from the other teams base could shoot out the vertical panel pretty easily.

It only takes 11 peices to make. A good team could easily build a comprehensive outer wall fort on most maps with the leftovers.

Took the words right out of my mouth Swift.

And, replying to your previous remark of being able to jump it even if it had vertical planks, here's what it would look like if you used my idea of the vertical planks i was talking about.

those small boxes were added because i didnt widen the slanted planks enough (didn't have much time) and they're there so that you can't walk off on the top of the slanted planks.
And no, you can't jump from the large box to the entrance plank that is horizontal.

PS: lol, that horizontal piece thing is all tilted since i raised it somewhat while someone was carrying a piece over me, and it bumped it before i froze it....but it still worked. Oh, and that piece needed to be raised, otherwise you could jump it by running into the flag plateu thing or whatever the flag is raised up on, and running into that will shoot you up somewhat, and you can jump right before you get bumped up, making you jump pretty high, but not high enough for that raised plank!!! MUAHAHAHA
