Default Prefab: Sourceforts Object Autospawners

Hello, just thought I'd post my prefab.

The autospawners as I call them automatically spawn a replacement object as soon as they are removed from the table.

This is really the only thing you have to do yourself - and it's important so make sure you read this:
On your logic_gametimer object, make an output called OnSwitch, make it target autospawn_toggle and make the input ToggleTest.

By using this system, you can:
  • Eliminate the need for object warehouses and save map space and file size.
    Reduce server lag so that minor physics movements (such as pulling a panel off of a stack of panels) don't send hundreds of physics commands to the server lagging it down.





Here is what is included:
Two spawner sets, one for red team and one for blue team.

Automatic doors that appear and disappear when appropriate.

A logic_branch has been included that takes care of showing or hiding the doors.

Spawners are definitely the way to go for the future, however v2 has an env_block_spawner entity that should make it a lot easier .

Wasn't aware of that. I guess until then however people can use the prefab if they want

the idea of an autospawn sounds neat but all i get is an empty zip file. tried renaming it to see if that worked but no good.

I was hoping for a spawner, i hope you fix the link soon

really? sorry about that, i'll fix that now.

edit:

fixed it! try again. I downloaded it again and checked, the .vmf file is there now.
