Default sf_longrun

Heyas!

Here is my first map for SourceForts - sf_longrun

It's a bigger map then the most ones around, and I think it should be played at least with 4vs4 or more people, but I also enjoyed it in a 3vs3 test run.

I playede this map. And there is uch fun to be had, and i commend the mapper.

Only prob is that there dosnt seem to be a limit on the number of pieces you can spawn, so the map becomes cluttered VERY quickly. Other than that the skybox is much too low.

Each piece could be spawned 30 times at the moment. Each new Buildtime you get 5 more pieces each. At first the limit was set on 20 each, but that seemed not enough for this map.

The Skybox is much higher in this version, so you could throw your nades and pieces as high as possible if you want. But I restricted the map at same level as the walls with a "player clip", so no one is able to look over the walls.

how is having no limit on pieces bad? it should be the builders fault if the use too many peices.

anyway, i really like the map.

The window to show which piece is spawned is a good idea. it beats no indictation or a picture. I was thinking of doing that, even before i saw your map. Could I make something similar?

FuzionMonkey, if one team spawns far too many pieces, the other team shouldn't be punished with a slow server.

It's nice to hear that people like my map.

And there is nothing against making a similiar spawn room like mine, I don't have copyrights on them. It's also nice to see, that such ideas are worth to get copied.

@jlf: Is there a max count of pieces the dev team recommends?

No, not yet. It'll be a server CVAR in v2 for the spawners.

Looks great, Only thing I dont like is the twist. I like to see my over all goal from the beginning. Other than that great map. I have a good idea for a map similar to this.

Instead of a twist type thing a horse shoe looking thing. Each base has its own cellar leading through some tunnels to a field. There could be two places to defend/attack. Also, you cannot build in the tunnels only on the open field.

You could
A) fight going the horse shoe way
B) Venture to the open field and fight hthrough defenses there

It would need some tweaking but I think is a great idea.

I've made some new pics out of the beta1 version. I can't release the map yet, because something messed up the doors at the player spawn rooms and it's not able to pick up ammo. I will fix this as soon as possible (when I don't find the problem I will wait vor SF v2)

But here are the new screens ..

Supply room (makes it worth buying guns )

The ammo room looks cool. But plz dont add in weapons. It makes it really annoying, and although it is fun, your map turn s into an RPG fest.
