Default sf_skyscraper

New Images at bottom.

This map is about halfway done. I need some opinions on what I should do to make it better. I also want to know what you think about having the flag in a box style area.

-3d skybox (you REALLY need this)
-if the craper(lol) is under construction, add some random barrels (NOT explodable) and junk but SOME.

I have a 3d skybox but I compiled that version with cordon bounds that way It would compile faster. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I was wondering about barrels and other phys objects. They will be have just like the building pieces since they are all prop physics right? I wasn't sure if adding them would be a good idea. But I will now that you suggested it.

Heres the overview. Im considering making all the ramps no freeze zones that way they cant block the opposing team from getting to the top but I dont know if thats a good idea or not.

EDIT: Also the building supplies are spawned at the 5 pillers at the top half of the map.

it would be same as blocks, but other... models.

/me puts can at 2nd end of tunnel and kaughs at everyone that stucks in dead-end

Uhg. Texture your Ibeams properly, and get rid of that EXTREAMLY ugly texture stretching on the flag base.

He was using Subdivide tool.



you shoulda try only 1 face and paint geometry (make circle bigger)

As for that rock section I just yanked it out all together.

As for a wall in the center what type should I do? I tried brick and it looked funny. And the glass looked horrible. Whats your opinion on clear walls?

Now this is the problem that I expected. Im wondering if I should just create no building zones in the ramps or not. What do you think?












To counter that ramp clog up deal to some extent I decided to do this.

I still don't see why you can't do proper I-beams... I mean they DID use them in HL2 afterall, and you do have all HL2 content fully available to you. I suspect it's just and issue of slicing up all your beams so they have the center I grooves in them. It may seem like alot of work, but TBH that is the one thing that is really holding this map back from looking semiprofessional.
