Default SF_Water_Hazard Final released

Well... I managed to get started and I have created little bit my map.

Wanna see?
Here.

Don't blame it 'couse it's so at start so you can't say anything of it yet. Oh and by the way...

I'm creating this map by this 1 paged concept art note. (And funniest part...) what I made on household economy's lesson.

Edit: OK Final version is right here, right now and right from here Download.

Edit II: I moved triggers beneath the water surface so now you can build bridges and other stuff over water but triggers are enough high so you can't hide flag at bottom of the "lake".

And I added 2 more air pockets in the middle of the map.

Edit III: Ok now that version is final and I did have some trouble with it when I was trying to convert it to .bsp. Hammer did stuck to PortalFlow ...2...3 and stayed there even I did let my com. be on 12h it still didn't move on so I did run vvis.exe on fast so it did manage through PortalFlow.

Now I'm not sure does it cause any errors during net play but I don't think it do.

So that version is final and so it stays like that forever. Enjoy it now.

PS. I did add little land in front of spawn bunkers so you can't throw grenades next to ramps so easily.

I hope there's alot more to it than a big water textured block and a tiny hill... :?

Lol 10 minutes of building...   that was really good... For me that takes atleast 1 week to get that map finished and work as it should.

Well I have learned about 38% of what I should know of basic mapping. And I don't remember how long I did do these edges but the map have little move forward.

Bad news but fortunately nothing big. Heehee... big... heehee...

I had to made my map bigger than it was 'couse my islands didn't fit in very well. Umm well they did fit in but there weren't enough free space left.

Old size in Hammer was 4736.00x6208.00 and new size is in hammer 7616.00x10240.00 so it's much bigger now.

I hope it won't be too big now so player's com. starts to lag when he plays it... *Scared*

Well back to work now...

Update.

Block warehouse.

I little reformed my island so there won't be danger to get killed from own spawn point.

Under water, literally.

And there are much more to do. For example, I have to reform my islands, do under water air pockets, do flag hill, add blocks to block warehouse, change textures, add everything stupid what makes map to look nice, I have to add game clock, flags and other stuff and of course TEST IT AND PLAY IT.

Edit: I'm very active user here i think.

Well I just want to tell you that I occured an error during to try my map and its air pockets. Well it wasn't an error but the portflow or what ever that was, did load up so slowly so I have to reduce air pockets amount if that helps increaseing loading speed.

Ok here are those mysterious air pockets.

...Annndd... Errors what valve's mapping help page warns of.

And zoom error.

But I won't give those up. Those are critical parts of the map in under water fights and flags movement.

I don't think it is possible to cut out holes in water, thats why it messes up your map!
If you try something like this, then that might work:

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/jameswins...air_pocket.JPG

it shows the water line and a container with doorways under the water and above is an air pocket. This is a more realistick way of doing it too!

Ok due to very evil collision bugs the progessing took few steps backward. I have to do maps edges again but now atleast 2 of them work like they should and no collision messages are appearing.
