Default Server crash reason:

My sourceforts server crashes everytime when following happens:

- it's a combat round
- a builder is fixing a block
- someone destroys that block
-> server restarts


So, dear coders, please fix this as soon as possible. My server usually crashes about once per map due to this reason. Thanks.

This bug has been reported before, but I don't think it has on the forums. However, it is certain to be fixed in the next release.

I would have been able to fix it myself if sf_block_damage_multiplier was not specified as a cheat cvar.

It'd be really nice if common server variables were not defined as cheats.

Any ideas when we can expect the new release?

I'd be happy with nothing more than this bug fixed. But for now I will take my server back offline because it is unplayable.

when entering a cheat onto the server, try this

type with the quotes or it wont work
Code:
"sv_cheats 1; wait; wait; <cheatname>; wait; wait;sv_cheats 0"
by the time it echos back onto the screen, cheat will be off

Nice try. But as it's a cheat variable, it gets reset if you turn cheats off. :evil:

We're aware of the block-destroying server-crashing bug, future updates will stamp it out.

<3 Plus.. as a general rule for now.. dont kill the block kill the person welding it... I hate it when a noob joins the server and crashes it.. The experienced players know to just ignore people building during combat.

noclip and togglephase are cheats but no cvars. That's why they do work despite turning cheats back off.

Developers, what about a server hotfix that makes sf_block_damage_multiplier a non-cheat variable? pleeeeaaase
