Default bright pieces

for my dark map with spanwable lights, the pieces seam to almost glow when they are in the dark. how can i fix this. if i cant il move on to another map because with the pieces bright like this it is pointlesss. its a weird kinda of light becuase the piece looses all of its color and has a dark coloring yet it is ligher than the surroundings.

Probably something to do with the properties of the model. I'll have a look at fixing this for v2.

maybe the texture has a brightness to it.
i made a map with toggling lights in hl1 and to get the best effect you want to also toggle the textures of the light so from a dark texture to a light one.

Or you could make the map old school style with dumpster lids and crates.

Or your graphic card can't handle light effects 'couse my card turns blocks to dark silver shine when ever I move them to dark places.

Red and Blue colours turns to dark silver shine so it is little hard to know when they are damaged.

I hope my vid card can handle it lol, its a X800xt. maybe the setings are scewed up in game though, il make sure im running in dx 9 and a few other things, because your right when you mention the card not handling it and for some reason i think my game might be in dx8. its hard to keep track of all of the game settings when you have soo many different games and mods.

Can you give us an example of the error?

At best, make a small test map that reproduces the error, and post it so we can try it or even test other models/compiles.

screen shots would help as well, just so we know what you see.

this was compiles for Sourceforts ver 1.4.2 right?

when I try to run the map I get the following error in my console:

Even for a test map, a size of 7k is pretty small.
