People are always asking me how to load the FGD, so here is an excerpt from an email I composed to explain it to some budding young mapper :lol:

Providing you already have the FGD (which I am presuming), the best place to put it, is within the "...SteamApps\SourceMods\SourceForts" folder. You need to start the Source SDK making sure at the bottom, you have "Current Game: Half-Life 2: Deathmatch" selected. From there, enter the Hammer Editor. Once Hammer has loaded, from the toolbar, select Tools and then Options. In Options, select the "Game Configurations" tab, and fix your attention on the "Game Data files:" section. To the right in this section is a button "Add", press this and browse to were you placed the FGD (which, if you followed my suggestions, would be in the "...SteamApps\SourceMods\SourceForts" folder). Once you have done that, remain in the "Game Configurations" tab and in the section entitled "Game Directory (where the gameinfo.txt is, ex: c:\Half-Life\cstrike)", and change whatever is there to "$SteamDir\SteamApps\SourceMods\SourceForts" (without the quotes). And that's all once you've done that, click "Ok" down the bottom, and and close Hammer and restart it. The FGD will be loaded.
