Well, seeing as sourceforts has great potential for those who use teamwork, and there are not many clans currently out there, I have decided to create my own, Clan Rebellion (that's as in the clan, Rebellion, not as in rebellion against clans  ). Forums will be up within a couple of days and I'm seeing about getting some webspace (I think I know where I can put the clanpage. I'm trying to avoid using some cheapo ad-infested freebie site). We should have a site up within a week or so.
I have posted this thread (in the general forums for lack of a clan forum) for both recruitment and challenge. Any who would like to join [Reb] post here or PM me. Alternately, any clanleaders who would like to have a clanmatch with us once we get up and going feel free to post here.
Now, a little about [Reb]. Firstly, this will not be one of those lackadaisical clans that does nothing but show up for their clan matches and that's it. We WILL practice. That being said, it's not going to be some nazi totalitarian "Be at every practice or I'll boot you from the clan" things either. I just want to make sure that everyone knows each others' play styles, and that we can work together well. Obviously as well I will want to make sure that those people who are primarily builders can not only make great forts but can make them FAST (since I can't envisage clanmatches having 30 minute buildtimes) and that those people who choose to handle the offensive side know their stuff.
We will be (hopefully) participating in fairly regular clanmatches on the weekends, assuming that there are enough other clans at the moment to keep us fighting. Noone will be required to show up for every clanmatch because I realize that everyone has real lives. However, on the other side of the coin if someone never shows up for a clanmatch they won't stay in the clan too long.
So, if [Reb] sounds like the clan for you, post here and as soon as possible I'll play with you some, guage your skills, etc. I don't expect to be turning anyone away, however, unless they just refuse to work in a team environment. Because HL2 is a fairly simple game, it's easy to get a handle on the fighting with a little practice, and sometimes people who aren't good just in a normal online fray are very good when working in a structured team environment. Likewise, while fort building can seem daunting at first (I remember my first SF game, travelling past my raggedy wall and seeing a perfectly straight wall at the enemy's side, armored battlements over the top and all, and thinking "holy crap") it's fairly easy to get the hang of. So if you're not that good, don't worry, we'll train you up
EDIT: anyone wanting to join, please either post here or in our forums. To be accepted you have to be a member of our forums so we can give you acess to the clan talk forums where you'll check up on practices and matches. Here's the link.
