TA (The Architects) is currently recruiting dedicated players interested in the competitive side of SF. We are a new USA clan with experience in several CAL and CPL sanctioned league-level games. We will shortly have a public server available as well as a website. Our ventrilo server has been stable for over a year, and will be given to anyone interested.

Requirements :
- Pinging under 100 to Los Angeles/Chicago/NY based servers.
- Mature and professional additude. Good sportsmanship.
- A schedule that can permit a significant amount of play time on a regular basis, with a minimum of 4 days a week for practice.
- Ventrilo and a microphone. Voice communication is a must.
- A skill-level in SF capable of holding their own and understanding the fundamentals of competitive gaming.

We are not in need of the "best player". However, we are looking for certain undisclosed attributes a person might possess. If you feel you have the potential to be the part of a professional team, then seek us out.

I would say that I am moderately skilled (not amazing but better than most)

Yes I do have Ventrillo and TeamSpeak and I do ping < 100 on most international servers (I got 10 MB broadband)

TA, can I ask what competitive scene you guys are from?

The_Mastor: We will be getting back to you shortly after some discussion on having a UK member in the team. There may be need for questioning on practice times and scrim availability. However, I have played with you a bit and see no flaw in your skill levels for competitive play. Expect an e-mail within the next day.

entRo: Many of our members were succesful in Cal-M CS 1.6 and CS:S, along with DotA (Warcraft 3 FT Custom Map), and some other random games in the mix. I myself, was involved in all the above with some Warcraft 3 Ladder, and heavy Unreal Tournament/2003/2004.

We are hoping to see sourceforts reach the competitive level of some of these games one day, and are here to help the scrim and private community thrive. I really enjoy the people I meet in game and hope to offer as much as possible to the mod in the future.

If you still have room then I'd love to join. I was playing on the server today with you and eebz ( I think that's his user name) and all the TA members seemed really chill and were fun to play with. The server is also the best pinging server I get (I had a ping of 20 at most). I'm a pretty good engineer in both combat and the build phase and have a good grasp of tactics. I think I'd make a great addition to the TA clan.

So that's what it's like to play on less than 90 ping! Good to know.
