Default Team Velocity

edit: Team name has been changed to Velocity to coincide with our current multi-division Counter-Strike team. But I don't feel like going back throughout the thread and changing all "giglioroninomicon"s to "velocity"s.

This makes three teams?

Team Giglioroninomicon (don't ask) was a CS team I put together a year or so ago, and we're bringing it back together for LAN tournaments and such. We also decided to start up a SourceForts division, so we'll be actively competing in both CS (1.6 and CS:Source) and SF once things get rolling.

We're located on the west coast of the US (Southern California to be specific), and we're not really interested in playing transcontinentally due to lag. Recruiting will probably be pretty limited, and previous experience in the competitive aspect of games is a requirement, preferably CTF games.

21 views and not one reply. Haha.

I'll clear up some confusion in my previous post. Giglioroninomicon plays other games than SF, but members of the SF division aren't required to play CS, and CS members aren't required to play SF. It's a seperate team under the same name.

I think it's a cat face. Not really sure where it came from, but it's awesome.

I hadn't really expected people to reply asking to join, since the requirements are alot more strict than the other clans, I just thought it was strange that there wasn't a reply.

Lol, the requirements aren't THAT strict. And the other clans (lol, me and the other guy ) aren't being strict because at this point there aren't enough people playing to be strict about it. it's a choice of dealing with a good deal of team training and all to get people good or not being able to scramble enough ppl for a clanmatch when its' needed. When the SF community gets bigger, of course, that will change. But by then even the worse people in our clans will have been playing enough to be up the the newer 'strict' standards that will be viable

Another reason is that even if someone's not good at hldm they might be EXCELLENT at putting up good forts in limited time. And then they can simply man the walls (specially if you have something like one of the gate models which requires people to manually open and close from the inside in your fort), which anyone can do, it's a matter of mowing down people from cover.

EDIT: best of luck though, tell me when your team is ready and we can have us a little matchup.

As far as "strict" standards go for competitive teams, this is the best time to build a good team so when real competition begins, domination of the league is much easier. People without previous competitive experience may not understand the difference in playstyles that competition brings, and neither me or my teammates really want to spend time waiting for them to adjust.

The SF community is small, sure, but it's growing quickly and I'd much rather be ahead of the game than behind it.

Haha, i know, me too, that's why I started a clan this early. However, I was just saying that your rules weren't all that strict, nowhere near it, I've seen much much worse.
